Description
Join our team as an ICS Technologist/ICS Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and support of process control, networking, and data communication systems for Enbridge's Liquids Pipeline system. You will contribute to defining and implementing strategies for system operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of our pipeline infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of process control systems for liquid pipelines in Canada. Contribute to capital projects by reviewing design documents and coordinating technical aspects of control system PLCs and HMIs.
- Provide ongoing technical support for installed systems, addressing operational issues and resolving problem reports. Offer on-call support for process control systems used in operations.
- Participate in failure analyses and investigations related to process control and related systems.
- Establish working relationships with internal stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and service providers.
- Contribute to the development and updating of Enbridge process control and automation standards, specifications, practices, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements and support capital budget submissions, including cost estimates and business case justifications.
Scope/Dimensions
- Provide process control services for liquids pipelines, supporting projects and operations.
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including Project Engineering, Business Development, and Regional Operations.
- Geographical responsibility includes all Enbridge Liquids Pipeline facilities in Canada, with occasional travel to the U.S.
- Role impacts pipeline system operations, safety, and environmental considerations.
Working Relationships
- Collaborate with project teams, operations personnel, and other technical teams to provide controls technical guidance and services.
- Engage with external shipper contacts and integration consultants for technical guidance and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma in Process Control, Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
- P.Eng. or equivalent.
- 4+ years of progressive control systems engineering experience.
- Knowledge of control systems engineering, PLC and HMI hardware, and communications systems. Familiarity with Schneider Modicon PLC platform and AVEVA HMIs preferred.
- Valid driver's license, eligible to hold a valid passport, and ability to travel to the USA.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with travel to regional offices and construction sites (up to 20% of the time).
- Participate in on-call rotation for operations support, including occasional after-hours troubleshooting.
