Our client services the hydraulic and machined parts industry as a manufacturer of high precision machined components and assemblies. They are presently looking for a new member to join their team as a Sales Representative. Reporting to the VP, the Sales Representative takes responsibility for top-line revenue generation. Working closely with and reporting to the Vice President, the selected candidate will own the sales process from marketing through receipt of Purchase Order. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, maintaining marketing/promotional material, frequent customer visits, preparation of responses to RFI/RFP/RFQs, contract negotiation, establishing and executing sales strategies, and ongoing customer relationship management. The Sales Representative is our customer’s first entry-point to the organization and is critical to the continued success of their business.
Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Identify and capture new revenue opportunities from new and existing customers.
Prepare quote and proposal response packages, in conjunction with the supporting teams, and take ultimate responsibility for bid submission and presentation.
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships through close cooperation and understanding their needs.
Develop short and long term sales capture and pricing strategies.
Execute tactical sales plans to capture new business and book orders.
Develop and report sales forecasts and budgets to support the overall company business plan and profit objectives.
Negotiate contractual agreements with customers that will carry the business forward in a proactive, disciplined way, and bring significant value to the company.
Conduct market research of competitor pricing, program, and distribution strategies and make recommendations to ensure competitive positioning within the industry.
Identify opportunities for improvement to the sales process to improve revenue capture and sales effectiveness.
Qualifications
University degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or other related business disciplines.
Sales experience and contacts within the hydraulics and machining industry.
Demonstrated ability to target and win business opportunities while creating a high level of customer satisfaction & positive long term relationships.
Self-motivated, customer and results oriented, excellent influencing and negotiation skills at all levels of an organization.
Strong decision making skills, excellent judgment, high energy levels.
Ability to see the bigger picture but also have the ability to focus on the details.
Team player with the ability to gain inter-organizational cooperation and respect.
Knowledge and experience in a hydraulic manufacturing environment, ideally precision machining is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
