You as a HVAC Technician will:
Troubleshoot, clean, repair, replace, install, and maintain air conditioning and equipment such as fridges, freezers, ice machines, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, associated pumps and valves, air dryers, air handling units, and cooling systems of medical equipment throughout the hospital, including kitchen, retail space, labs, pharmacy, clinical, and patient treatment areas.
Ability to perform an effective preventive maintenance plan and maintain all aforementioned equipment in good working condition.
Check all AHUs for noise, vibration, leaks, performance, filter differential pressure – on site and on the BAS.
Weekly routine FCUs check – weekly routine ED’s check on all roofs and inside the building.
Check BAS system for HVAC-related alarms and on AHU’s performance in regard to temperature, damper settings, and valve positions.
Check system pumps, 24/7 on performance and in the summer.
Check chiller on performance.
Coordinate all maintenance planning for schedule and emergency work on HVAC equipment.
Able to order filters, belts, grease, cleaner/degreaser, light bulbs, silicone for filter frames, and all other parts needed.
Respond to planned and reactive maintenance requests and rectify issues within your skillset and experience as and when required.
Assist other team members with maintenance and project requests as required.
Operate a handheld device and maintenance software for performing and recording work requests.
Adhere and maintain departmental standards for undertaking work to meet quality standards and key performance targets.
Comply with relevant safety procedures, company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards, as well as hospital policies.
Is this the right role for you?
Grade 12 Diploma
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance
Registered member in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (commercial)
Valid ODP Certification
G2 Gas Technician license (G1 Gas Technician License Preferred)
Strong familiarity and comfort with central chiller plants and controls
Familiarity with commercial restaurant refrigeration systems is preferred
Able to perform various maintenance tasks within your skillset and experience
Ability to gather information, accurately assess issues, seek support and take direction as necessary
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly develop working relationships with a broad range of individuals, both internally and externally
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment, which may support various trades and roles where required, as well as comfort working alone
Familiarity working within a healthcare facility is preferred
