Job Overview: VIS Mechanical Ltd is actively seeking experienced HVAC Technicians and Refrigeration Mechanics to join our team in Victoria, BC. As a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Journeyperson, you will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial and industrial buildings. We are looking for skilled, detail-oriented professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and bring strong troubleshooting and technical expertise to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, Repair, and Maintain HVAC Systems: Efficiently handle the setup, repair, and upkeep of HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial and industrial applications.
Diagnose and Troubleshoot HVAC and Refrigeration Systems: Perform comprehensive diagnostics and effectively resolve issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Refrigeration Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs to refrigeration equipment in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Electrical Systems Troubleshooting: Identify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components of HVAC systems, ensuring all work aligns with safety protocols.
Support Building Renovations and Upgrades: Partner with other team members to renovate and upgrade existing HVAC systems as part of building improvement projects.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety Standards: Adhere to all local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical work, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC/Refrigeration required, 2-4 preferred.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license and an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration license (required).
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and electric systems.
Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, particularly under time-sensitive circumstances.
Physical Fitness: Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and operate in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
Safety Consciousness: Strong adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements, including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with digital HVAC tools and software for diagnostics and workflow management.
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, explaining technical issues, and providing service recommendations.
Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team to meet project goals and client expectations.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
