Position Overview :
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for the support and function of administrative HR tasks to meet ongoing business needs and contributing to the overall success of the HR team by assisting in various HR functions.
This is a full-time salaried position for which regular attendance to meet immediate business demands is an essential requirement. Flexibility may be required due to the nature of our business hours of work. Passing a pre-employment background screening is mandatory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) :
- Electronic filing of all Worker's Compensation (WC) claims.
- Auditing of HRIS data including employee onboarding data to ensure accuracy and timely completion of required documentation.
- Employee electronic and paper document file management.
- Processing of all Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) and other requests with changes made accurately in the HRIS.
- Employee electronic and paper document file management.
- Preparing and submitting ad-hoc employment verifications and unemployment claims; maintaining communications with third-party vendors regarding employment information.
- Coordinate FMLA and other leaves of absence by providing necessary documentation to employees and ensuring completion of the documentation.
- Assisting with benefits administration.
- Assisting the HR management team with special projects, communications, and other administrative support tasks as required.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field is preferred, although relevant post-secondary education and combination of continuing education and experience may be acceptable.
- Minimum of 2 years' human resources experience in an administrative capacity.
- Strong analytical ability and highly detail oriented.
- Excellent planning, time-management, collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, organization and presentation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a customer-service oriented approach to problem-solving while gathering feedback to achieve continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload and be self-directed.
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
