Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Representative

Location: Calgary, AB

Position: Full time

Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Allied Universal is hiring a Human Resources Representative for Calgary, Alberta. The Human Resources Representative is responsible for supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, compliance, and HR policy implementation. This role will collaborate with various departments to ensure that HR practices align with organizational goals and values while maintaining compliance with labour laws and regulations. The Human Resources Representative will act as a trusted partner, providing strategic and tactical support to both employees and leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide day to day human resources oversight and support in assigned geographic region
  2. Selection and placement of direct reports; design and implement career development and performance improvement programs
  3. Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance on conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions
  4. Investigate and resolve employee complaints and issues in a timely and confidential manner
  5. Act as a liaison with various regional HR functions (i.e., benefits, workers comp, administration, recruiting), to ensure timely flow of information and execution of regional priorities
  6. Advise managers and employees on human resources policies, procedures, and best practices
  7. Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies
  8. Manage the full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection
  9. Partner with human resources team to develop and execute talent sourcing strategies
  10. Assist in the implementation of performance review processes
  11. Work with managers to address performance issues and create development plans
  12. Provide guidance and support on performance improvement plans and corrective actions
  13. Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial, and local employment laws and regulations
  14. Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of human resources policies and procedures
  15. Stay current with changes in labour laws and update human resources practices accordingly
  16. Facilitate employee development and training initiatives in partnership with department leaders
  17. Support the design and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skill sets and company culture
  18. Act as a coach to managers and employees on professional development and career growth
  19. Maintain accurate human resources records and prepare reports on key metrics, such as turnover, headcount, and employee engagement
  20. Evaluate data to identify trends; develop and implement processes for improving HR programs and initiatives
  21. Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, compensation, and other HR-related concerns

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the human resources managing and successfully resolving complex employee and/or labour relations situations in a dynamic and high-demand environment
  3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting a unionized workforce and familiarity with labour relations, such addressing grievances
  4. Experience managing the receipt, investigation, documentation, resolution, and communication of employee relations cases of a complex and varied nature, at both the provincial and federal regulations
  5. Experience turning goals into action by creating and executing strategies and plans to achieve objectives
  6. Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  7. Knowledgeable and skilled in policy interpretation; ability to consistently apply policies and practices to ensure equity within assigned client group and organizationally
  8. Goal-oriented with a demonstrated ability to interact successfully in unfamiliar or new environments to accomplish hiring goals
  9. Ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  10. Highly proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
  11. Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
  12. Outstanding oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  1. Ability to travel within Canada, periodically
  2. College degree in Human Resources or related field of study
