Responsibilities

Tasks:

1. Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
2. Identify current and prospective staffing requirements
3. Provide information or services, such as employee assistance and counselling
4. Advise job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment
5. Contact potential applicants to arrange interviews
6. Co-ordinate and participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates
7. Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures
8. Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures
9. Determine eligibility to entitlements and arrange staff training
10. Recruit and hire staff
11. Train staff
12. Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
13. Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
14. Plan and control budget and expenditures
15. Oversee the classification and rating of occupations
16. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
17. Manage contracts
18. Manage training and development strategies
19. Establish and implement policies and procedures
20. Conduct performance reviews
21. Oversee payroll administration
22. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
23. Provide customer service
24. Review HR projects to assure compliance with laws and regulations
25. Plan and organize daily operations
26. Evaluate daily operations
27. Coordinate the activities of the HR department in order to ensure they meet the organization’s goals
