Job Title: HR Manager, Labour Relations (Contract – 10 months)

Location: Toronto
Industry: Non-Profit

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager with a strong background in labour relations to join our client on a 10-month contract. This role will focus on providing leadership in labour/employee relations, HR policies, and compliance management. The ideal candidate will have experience in collective bargaining, contract interpretation, and occupational health and safety, with the ability to work onsite four days per week.

Responsibilities

  1. Labour Relations: Lead collective bargaining efforts, acting as the main negotiator and spokesperson.
  2. Human Resources Leadership: Coach and support managers in HR policy interpretation, performance management, and employee relations.
  3. Occupational Health & Safety: Oversee safety programs, conduct incident investigations, and manage WSIB claims.
  4. Compliance: Stay up to date on HR-related legislation and ensure compliance with provincial regulations.
  5. Training & Development: Implement training programs for managers and support the professional growth of the HR team.
  6. Employee Relations: Address employee grievances, conduct internal investigations, and facilitate conflict resolution.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in labour relations, including collective bargaining and employee relations.
  3. CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
  4. Knowledge of provincial employment laws and labour relations legislation.
  5. Experience in a unionized environment, preferably in the non-profit or public sector.
  6. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
