Experience

  • 8+ years of experience leading and managing a Human Resources Department, with demonstrated success in developing high-performance teams.
  • You are a deeply experienced HR generalist who excels as both an individual contributor and as the leader of high-performing Human Resource teams.
  • Strong understanding of employment, Human Rights, and duty to accommodate legislation.
  • Experience with immigration – LMIA, Work Permits, Visa’s, Workshare.
  • Experience using an HRMS / ATS /LMS software is an asset.
  • Previous experience with Manufacturing or Construction industry is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Analytical and resourceful to design practical solutions that improve efficiency and results.
  • Proactive and action-oriented, lead by example and roll up your sleeves to ensure solutions are successfully implemented.
  • Known for your integrity and diplomacy, you handle complex and difficult situations with confidence.
  • Trusted, expert resource for leaders and a valued source of sound advice for employees.
  • Ability to multitask, meet multiple deadlines and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify, communicate and implement effective strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, change management, facilitation, coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Very high integrity, ethical and trustworthy.

HR Operations

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and business unit leaders in effectively managing HR initiatives, programs, and activities that meet short and long-term business goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement employee engagement strategies that support the attraction, development, and retention of employees.
  • Provide performance management guidance to management/employees (coaching, career development, disciplinary actions, investigations, employee relations).
  • Develop &/or support the execution of HR guidelines, policies and procedures, ensuring that all employment practices comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Work with internal business partners to improve current processes and increase efficiencies.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to identify issues and develop effective HR solutions, programs and policies in response.

Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-functioning HR team to deliver effective HR programs and services.
  • Advise Senior Leadership on high-performance teams, develop and execute succession plans.
  • Support managers to drive the people agenda for their areas, partnering with them to proactively identify and prioritize the most critical talent issues and opportunities for action.
  • Implement and maintain programs/services related to HR Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Orientation/Onboarding, Performance Management, Benefits, Employee Relations, Reward and Recognition, and Employee Engagement.
  • Provide guidance to functional teams across the company and strengthen the HR function to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement departmental budget.

Recruitment

  • Manage the talent acquisition process by partnering with business leaders to identify and execute effective recruiting and onboarding strategies.
  • Review, redesign, and establish key talent management processes and programs, i.e., talent acquisition; onboarding; learning and development; performance management; succession management.
