About the Role: The HR Manager will be responsible for all HR responsibilities, including creating and working on policies, assisting Managers in disciplinary actions, legal and hiring/TA responsibilities, benefits management, and payroll for a KW area based manufacturing firm. This role will direct and manage the Human Resources function and team by supervising, planning, organizing, and implementing Human Resources programs. The HR Manager will report to the Director of Operations in Waterloo with accountability to the Head office HR group. The team comprises a combination of office and manufacturing staff, about 140 in total, with the plant running 3 shifts.
Responsibilities
Provide instruction, guidance, and leadership to Supervisors by assisting in resolving and providing solutions to business problems. Implement policies and procedures for the company.
Utilize interactive management principles when implementing progressive discipline procedures in dealing with disengaged employees and performance issues.
Provide professional and confidential assistance to other functional groups on human resource-related issues.
Coordinate, monitor, and enforce diversity initiatives and a harassment-free workplace.
Manage employee communications, particularly regarding policy and benefit issues, ensuring accuracy and effective presentation.
Manage health and safety training.
Run payroll using Ceridian Dayforce to ensure the accuracy of records pertinent to benefits and policy, such as time & attendance, vacation, and disability eligibility.
Ensure the company meets its legal requirements impacting and affecting H.R. functions, ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with federal and provincial law.
Recruit, interview, and assist in evaluating candidates, collaborating with hiring managers to fill vacant positions.
Spearhead various committees such as the social committee and workplace safety.
Assist in establishing and maintaining effective policies and procedures for the division to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
Collaborate with the leadership team to create Human Resources strategies, making a significant contribution to the company and workplace.
Who we are looking for:
Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
Completion or working towards HRPA/CPHR designation.
Minimum 4 years of leadership experience; experience within manufacturing is a strong asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent mathematical, analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills.
Mature, consistent attitude towards the responsibilities of the job.
