Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for sharing and championing the Human Resources department with the Partnership group. They will effectively and efficiently manage our team to drive the growth of revenue, organizational growth, and promote high levels of employee satisfaction. This individual will also guide and help establish the development of HR strategy, policies, practices, and programs for employment, recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee development, and retention, while enforcing compliance with labour laws and any relevant legislation governing the workplace. Other duties will be performed as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide vision and leadership that encourages growth within the organization.
  2. Demonstrate and encourage teamwork and cooperation.
  3. Uphold and monitor the Personnel Policies manual and propose amendments for changes as required.
  4. Ensure that our organization complies with all company and government regulations regarding employees and a safe work environment, following all Employment Standards Act, 2000 at minimum.
  5. Provide written and verbal reports on an ongoing basis and other written reports as requested from time to time.
  6. Create & implement corporate policies, procedures, and organizational structure for Famme & Co.
  7. Provide support and oversight to any number of projects as it relates to Human Resources including payroll.
  8. Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate objectives.
  9. Participate in planning for strategic training and organizational talent development.
  10. Oversee the performance management system as well as the coaching and mentoring programs.
  11. Oversee compensation programs to ensure regulatory compliance and competitive salary levels.
  12. Ensure adherence to organizational policy for promotions, filling new positions, upgrading existing positions, re-circling positions, and processing annual salary adjustments.
  13. Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  14. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance.
  15. Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations, and make recommendations for their implementation.
  16. Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations.
  17. Provide resolutions to employee relation issues.
  18. Build and sustain beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions.
  19. Perform interviews, screens, and recruit for all positions.
  20. Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  1. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  2. Diploma or certificate in human resources management required, Human Resources Designation (CHRP required, CHRL in progress).
  3. 4 + years of related experience required.
  4. Demonstrated time management skills.
  5. Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
  6. High level of integrity and excellent work ethic.
  7. Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  8. Team management experience.
  9. Previous payroll experience would be an asset.
