What to Expect:
Join our team as an HR Manager for our Confectionary (Chocolate) Factory, where you will play a key role in ensuring the achievements of our HR team and programs. Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Manager, you will provide comprehensive Human Resources services to both hourly and salaried factory-based employees. As a member of the site leadership team, you will lead HR functions within a unionized environment and implement people plans that directly contribute to the success of our business. This role requires expertise in People Performance & HR, including labour relations, and offers the opportunity to represent the complete HR Service/Value Chain.
A day in the life:
As an HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in employee engagement, labour relations, and HR process management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to & Execute HR Strategy: Implement People Strategies to attract, develop, and retain employees, contributing to the execution of the business plan, and driving the flawless execution of global, market, and local HR Initiatives.
- Labour Relations: Internal lead on labour relations issues and responsible for timely information on employee relation matters. Ensure appropriate interpretation, application, and administration of collective agreement. Oversees best practices and responsible fiscal management of grievances, arbitrations and other dispute resolution processes.
- Factory HR Processes: Oversee all HR activities, including the successful implementation of recruitment and selection strategies, ensuring compliance with current government legislation, Nestlé policies and procedures, and adherence to the Collective Agreements.
- Organizational Design & Development (OD&D): Manage effective organizational transformation and change projects, shaping the culture to align with Nestlé goals & initiatives, and supporting & coaching line managers in the implementation of core people processes.
- Performance & Talent Management: Ensure that Performance and Talent Management drive the achievement of business goals through objective and development plan setting, performance calibration, and talent development.
- Employee Engagement: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees, and their representatives, fostering a productive, open, empowering, safe, and equitable culture and environment.
- Factory Training and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with mandatory annual Compliance to work trainings on Nestle policies and procedures, leading skills forecast strategy, and overseeing training governance and efficiency in training processes.
- Health and Wellness: Partner with the Health and Wellness Team to provide support for employees dealing with medical-related issues, including claims, disability management, legal compliance, STD/LTD/WSIB, and the management of modified work and accommodation processes.
What will make you successful?
As the successful candidate, you will possess a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace culture, while ensuring fair and equitable HR processes. You will be collaborative, action-oriented, and adept at navigating complex environments. You will ideally have:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources in a unionized environment, preferably in manufacturing sector.
- Strong expertise in Labour Relations, including comprehensive knowledge of employment law and its interpretation.
- Experience with Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment/Resourcing, Performance Management.
- Proven experience in coaching and developing of people.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor, confidentiality, and sound judgment are essential.
- Proficiency with Windows based applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to master other HR specialized software (such as Success Factors, Taleo, Kronos, etc.).
- Professional HR designation and additional industrial relations training would be a significant advantage.
