Our client, rich with history, is seeking a passionate, people driven, Human Resources (HR) Manager to join their manufacturing plant in Golden, BC.

*This role will require relocation*

The Human Resource Manager will work in partnership with the local Plant Manager as well as have support from their international team, ensuring the upkeep of a happy, healthy, and productive working environment. This hire will support over 300 employees and contractors in both a unionized and non unionized environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Implement and administer policies, procedures, and programsrelated to employee wellbeing and safety
  • Develop and manage recruiting and retention strategy with the support of the Plant Manager
  • Recruiting, interviewing, job placement, and hiring
  • Responsible for support, training and enforcement of all site programs and compliance activities
  • Plan and execute employee appreciation events/celebrations and engagement
  • Maintain effective working relationship with union and properly administer agreements
  • Interpret, manage and consult on grievance and arbitration
  • Assist, as necessary, with contract negotiations
  • Operational policy updating and management (annual training, job specific training)
  • Management of LMS system in coordination with Safety and Training

Education:

  • Human Resources (HR) certifications and/ or degree required

Qualifications:

  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
  • Clean criminal background check
  • Working knowledge of BC Labour laws
  • Willing and able to relocate to Golden, BC

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in Human Resources (HR) Management is required
  • 2+ years experience in manufacturing industry is required
  • Previous experience with unionize environments is required
  • Strong understanding of change management (huge asset)

Base Salary:120,000 – 130,000 per year

  • Bonus eligible
  • Full benefits package
  • *Relocation package available*

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Potential evenings and weekend as needed navigating any urgent HR related matters.
