By promoting a positive and productive workplace, you will help to ensure that each team member is serving as a positive presence in the lives of residents and their family members.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be committed to Touchmark’s values (hospitality, compassion, excellence, teamwork, and integrity), and have a desire to model these values and encourage others to be allies, friends, and givers.
- Have a working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and other employment laws.
- Experience working in an HR role in a unionized workplace and have experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and union-management preferably working with AUPE.
- Experience with Dayforce is not required but preferred.
- You will have a working knowledge of Alberta payroll laws and regulations.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in human resources management or other related fields.
- Have at least three years experience in the role of a human resource, with duties that included high-volume staffing and recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and worker’s compensation administration in a return-to-work environment.
- Understand the importance of maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and basic office equipment.
- Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members, and visitors.
Duties for this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the full-cycle recruitment process for all open positions.
- Coordinating and conducting a thorough orientation for new team members.
- Tracking all benefits and employment status changes.
- Conducting management training.
- Managing WCB and employment insurance claims.
- Active, ongoing recruitment of employees through job boards, social media, and professional networking to fill open positions.
