Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the planning and oversight of all activities related to recruitment, training, development, retention, management, and dismissal of employees at Primary. They manage the financial, strategic, and operational health of the HR team as it executes on various functions including, though not limited to:
Leadership over HR suite of services
- Setting strategic goals and objectives for the HR department,
- Managing departmental budgets and costs,
- Building relationships with managers,
- Accountability for HR service delivery excellence,
- Enhancing & improving HRIS functions to improve integration and automation of HR transactions,
- Developing and maintaining corporate policies relating to Human Resources,
- HR Governance and reporting,
- Ensuring that Primary’s HR practices conform to all applicable local laws and regulations,
- Supporting disciplinary and termination procedures,
- Any other duties as required.
Leadership and accountability for HR team members who manage
- Recruiting activities, including internship and coop experience,
- Onboarding and probationary experience,
- Employee workplace concerns (HR Liaison),
- Payroll and benefits administration,
- Administering Employee Recognition Programs,
- Administration and ongoing improvement of the HRIS system.
Employee Development Programming leadership, which involves
- Career planning,
- Training & development planning,
- Experience targets,
- Mentorship programming,
- Succession planning,
Total Reward strategy & programming
- Strategic compensation planning,
- Benefits offerings,
- Time away from work programs and offerings.
Facilitating employee-led committees and groups such as
- DEIB Committee,
- Women+ ERG,
- Otter Committee (First Nations Engagement).
Minimum Qualifications:
- CHRP Designation.
- Minimum 7-10 years of HR experience, demonstrating progressing responsibility including leadership or management experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Office 365 suite.
- Experience within the engineering industry would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of Ceridian-Dayforce or other comparable HRIS suites would be a considerable asset.
