The Job – Human Resources Generalist – Eastern Region (Bilingual)

On Side Restoration’s HR team is growing, and it’s an exciting time to join our team! We are seeking an exceptionally organized Human Resources Generalist (HRG) for our Eastern Region in Canada. The HRG will provide end-to-end HR support to managers and employees in the province of Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.

As an expert in all things Human Resources, a typical day may include guiding employees through HR policies & procedures, supporting Management with employee relations, and delivering impactful initiatives aligned with the annual HR Cycle and our business priorities.

The Human Resources Generalist will:

1. Provide coaching and professional human resources consulting to our managers and employees aligned with legislation, our programs, and company values.
2. Support an environment of open communication, exceptional teamwork, and innovation.
3. Understand legal and regulatory requirements along with provincial regulations across the country.
4. Conduct investigations, support managers with employee relations, performance & talent management, etc.
5. Support the HR cycle including performance reviews, compensation, talent management, and engagement.
6. Be an active member of the management committees for designated groups.
7. Co-develop training and information sessions for managers and/or employees.
8. Contribute to HR process improvement and evolution.
9. Lead or participate in national/strategic projects and deploy corporate initiatives.
10. Collaborate with the entire HR team including Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and Payroll.

What you bring:

1. Three to five years HRG experience, in a multi-location environment.
2. Post-secondary education in HR (Bachelors or Diploma) preferred.
3. CPHR/CHRP/CHRL or equivalent designation is an asset (or working towards completion).
4. Working knowledge of Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland employment law and provincial regulations; including RBQ and CCQ policies.
5. Fluency in speaking/reading/writing both French and English (This position interacts on a regular basis with English & French-speaking clients and colleagues across the country).
6. Discretion with highly confidential, personal, and sensitive information.
7. Ability to think critically, challenge the status quo, and have a continuous learning mindset.
8. Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide strategic advice and input.
9. Ability to evolve in a multi-site, matrix organization that is constantly evolving.
10. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and relate with all hierarchical levels.
11. Manage competing high-priority tasks, under pressure while meeting deadlines.
12. Experienced and knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite.
13. Desire to grow and develop in a fast-paced, growth mindset environment.
