Human Resources Generalist – Bilingual

4Refuel is looking for an enthusiastic Human Resources professional with a passion for people and workplace culture. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of HR functions including employee engagement, recruitment, CNESST claims management, performance management, and training and development.

You will serve as a key resource for employees and leaders, fostering a positive workplace culture and addressing HR-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR practices, legislation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for enhancing the employee experience. This position plays a vital role in supporting our organizational goals and promoting a collaborative environment.

To best support our employees, this is a hybrid remote role which requires in-office presence 2 days per week (Montreal office). Additionally, this person must be available to travel to Quebec City 1-2 times every other month. This person may also be required to visit our Atlantic office annually.

Major Job Functions:

  1. Supports a positive, open-door policy through interacting and assisting Managers and Employees within the Quebec and Atlantic regions on all HR-related matters.
  2. Is the first point of contact for employees to answer any questions on all payroll, benefits, and policy inquiries (with the support of the Payroll & Benefits team).
  3. Coordinates the corrective action and termination process and assists/supports Managers within your teams.
  4. Interprets and administers the application of all HR policies to ensure a clear understanding for all employees.
  5. Identifies, gathers, and provides input to support the development of HR policies, programs, and initiatives and participates in the implementation.
  6. Manages CNESST claims and RTW initiatives.
  7. Coordinates onboarding and training of new hires.
  8. Enters and updates confidential employee information and assists with training new employees on the usage of the Ceridian Dayforce program.
  9. Ensures accurate maintenance of electronic employee files (HRIS system, inputting new hires, processing LOAs, employee profile changes, etc.).
  10. Coordinates the annual performance review process within your assigned locations and ensures alignment with corporate initiatives.
  11. Assists in the recruitment process and plans, organizes, and attends recruitment fairs (as requested).
  12. Manages multiple priorities in an energetic, fast-paced environment.
  13. Provides People & Culture support for other regions and other People & Culture tasks/projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Must be fully bilingual in French and English (written/spoken) to communicate with all employees.
  2. Must have a people-first mindset, eager to make a positive impact and maintain a positive culture.
  3. Post-secondary education in a Human Resources or related field & knowledge of local employment legislation.
  4. 5 years of progressive experience within a Human Resources department.
  5. Experience with an HRIS system; Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
  6. Exceptional team player with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  7. Computer proficiency with a thorough knowledge of MS Office and social media tools.
