This dual-role position blends core HR functions—recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and performance management—with a strategic focus on talent development and learning initiatives. Key Responsibilities

HR Generalist Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  1. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, from sourcing and interviewing to hiring top talent.
  2. Collaborate with hiring managers to craft job descriptions and define role requirements.
  3. Contribute to our seamless onboarding and orientation programs to ensure new hires feel welcomed and set up for success.

2. Employee Relations & Compliance

  1. Act as a trusted advisor for employees, providing guidance on HR policies and workplace concerns.
  2. Mediate employee relations issues and provide resolution strategies in alignment with company policies.
  3. Ensure compliance with provincial labor laws, industry regulations, and HR best practices.
  4. Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster an inclusive and engaging workplace.
  5. Lead HR projects related to employee experience, process improvements, and culture-building.

3. Performance Management & Workplace Culture

  1. Support managers in performance review processes, coaching techniques, and feedback strategies.
  2. Assist in the development of career growth plans and performance improvement programs.
  3. Promote a positive work environment by implementing engagement and recognition initiatives.

4. HR Policies & Strategy

  1. Develop, update, and communicate HR policies that align with company goals and compliance requirements.
  2. Assist in executing HR strategies that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

Employee Development & Talent Growth Responsibilities

6. Learning & Development Program Design

  1. Design, develop, and implement high-impact learning programs, including instructor-led training, e-learning, and blended learning solutions.
  2. Conduct skills gap analyses to identify employee development needs and create targeted training initiatives.
  3. Facilitate interactive training sessions, workshops, and leadership coaching programs.

7. Career & Leadership Development

  1. Support succession planning and high-potential employee development programs.
  2. Guide employees and managers on career progression, upskilling, and leadership training.
  3. Develop competency frameworks and personalized learning paths for different roles.

8. Learning Management & Innovation

  1. Develop, manage, and maintain a learning management tool to track training participation and effectiveness.
  2. Analyze training data and feedback to continuously improve learning initiatives.
  3. Introduce innovative learning methods such as microlearning, gamification, and virtual training.

9. Compliance & Certification Training

  1. Ensure employees complete all mandatory training and compliance certifications.
  2. Maintain accurate training records for audit and regulatory purposes.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
  2. 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices.
  4. Experience in employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
  5. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Suite tools.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels.
  7. Exceptional communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  8. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. HR certification (CHRP, CHRL) is an asset.
  2. 2-5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Talent Development.
  3. Experience in instructional design, adult learning principles, and curriculum development.
  4. Background in e-learning software (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and LMS platforms.
  5. Knowledge of leadership development programs and career coaching methodologies.
