Summary:

We are actively seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Toronto. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be an integral part of the HR team. Reporting to the SVP, Talent & Culture, you will be responsible for supporting various human resource functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and health & safety.

Responsibilities:

HR, Talent & Culture

  1. Provide direction, insight, and assistance to managers and employees on HR & talent related matters such as employee relations, engagement, benefits, performance, and inclusion, equity, and diversity.
  2. Work with managers on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  3. Support the annual year-end performance process and employee evaluations.
  4. Promote a positive workplace culture and ensure employee engagement by being an active member of the Toronto social committee and the National Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee.
  5. Monitor employee development, promoting training and career advancement opportunities.
  6. Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and participate in the Health & Safety Committee.
  7. Actively participate in national HR projects to contribute to the overall growth and success of our HR initiatives.

Recruitment

  1. Manage full recruitment cycle, including job posting, screening candidates, conducting interviews, extending offers, and facilitating new employee onboarding.
  2. Act as the point of contact for LinkedIn recruitment and manage postings in accordance with recruitment priorities.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in human resources with experience in recruitment.
  3. Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA).
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  6. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; ideally experience with Dayforce or other integrated HRIS including ATS and with LinkedIn recruitment.
