Overall Responsibilities

The Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of our HR team, responsible for delivering a range of human resources services including recruitment and hiring support, onboarding, responding to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, and assisting with training. This role supports all stages of the employee life cycle.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Respond to Supervisor inquiries to ensure attendance, payroll hours, schedules, exceptions, and attendance records for production team members are accurately processed within a timely manner.
  • Track, flag, document, and sustain various discipline/coaching items for our supervisors to deliver to our production team members.
  • Respond to Supervisor inquiries related to discipline, coaching, and/or attendance-related matters.
  • Maintain attendance records and assist in the tracking and documentation of the discipline process
  • Facilitate recruitment process of casual part-time employees by selecting candidates, conducting interviews and administering testing requirements, onboarding and orientation.
  • Review and prepare Casual Part-time timecards for payroll submission.
  • Maintain numerous trackers regarding performance evaluation, probationary terms, grow-in wage, absenteeism, and casual part-time working hours for union.
  • Complete monthly union report
  • Provide administrative support for the recruitment process by posting positions on ADP, drafting employment offers, assign pre-employment screening and routing onboarding documents through DocuSign.
  • Onboarding new hires including conducting orientation, set up of employees in our systems and assigning HR training modules, issuing fobs, lockers and provide welcome package.
  • Process documents and letters for employee changes, leaves and terminations and inputting and maintaining confidential employee records in our human resource data bases, computer software systems, assign exit interview
  • Maintain employee and HR files, systems and HR mailbox and inbox
  • Answer general employee questions and promote an open door in addressing concerns. Maintain a positive and sustainable relationship with the union and non-union employees
  • Assist with implementing Jamieson’s HR processes and ensuring consistency.
  • Support employee engagement events and activities
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • Successful completion of post secondary education through accredited institution (college or university)
  • 1 -3 years’ experience in HR or administration
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft (Word/Excel)
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong values and ethics to work in a confidential and professional manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully and professionally at all times
  • High attention to detail, accuracy & organization skills
  • Ability to work independently with good time management skills & ability to prioritize
  • Ability to deal with issues in a confidential manner
