Position Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator is part of the Prairies Human Resources Team, supporting the Calgary division in the areas of administrative HR support including, but not limited to onboarding, benefits and wellness administration, company communication, coordination of company events, and additional project support for the team.

Note: This is an 18-month contract position, starting in February 2025. The position requires a successful candidate to be in the office 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enters data into HR systems, maintains HR files and records, produces HR reports
  2. Coordinates details, logistics, communication and execution of various events including training, wellness, orientation, open enrollment, fairs, and other divisional HR events
  3. Schedules meetings, assists with and directs incoming questions from employees
  4. Facilitates onboarding of new employees
  5. Works collaboratively with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers on recruitment needs
  6. Conducts payroll support activities
  7. Supports internal communication
  8. Participates in the planning and implementation of special projects and initiatives
  9. Participates in the Prairies Engagement Committee
  10. Advises and assists managers and employees on interpretation and administration of company policies and programs
  11. Coordinates with disability management
  12. Ensures regulatory compliance with Employment Standards and legal requirements
  13. Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Skills & Competencies:

  4. Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal
  5. Must have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  6. Adaptable, flexible style when dealing with employees
  7. Demonstrate an attitude that contributes to employee engagement and positive culture
  8. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  9. Able to work as part of a team
  10. Knowledge of or ability to learn HRIS, applicant tracking software, Electronic Filing software and other HR systems
  11. Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Google Applications
  12. Flexible schedule, this position is based on-site
