Wages: Starting at: $48,784.40+

The Gateway to Your Future
The Human Resources Admin Assistant is part of a dynamic Human Resources Team that provides human resources support to the entire Casino Operations. This role is essential support in all areas of HR including labour relations, recruitment, health benefits, communications and employee engagement. It requires extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills and a passion for managing positive working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Administration

  • Perform data entry of employee records into multiple systems
  • Maintain clean and up-to-date electronic and paper employee files (i.e., employment letters, performance documentation, training records), file employee information in an accurate and timely manner, and conduct file audits of employee files and maintain a record of each file
  • Run reports from systems on a regular basis to assist department, managers, and leaders with required information
  • Prepare and publish bi-weekly newsletter
  • Assist employees with Benefits and Pension enrolment and updates
  • Collect/distribute department mail daily
  • Support the implementation of Human Resource programs and initiatives in performance management, rewards and recognition, occupational health and safety, career planning, and development.

Recruitment

  • Assist with new hire initiatives – job fairs, onboarding, new employee orientation
  • Assemble new employee files for new hire onboarding
  • Assist with the administration and tracking of New Hire On-Boarding and payroll information
  • Coordinate locker assignments

Customer Service

  • Provide superior customer service and promote excellent employee relations with co-workers
  • Address and assist with general inquiries in person and over the phone from employees, managers, and external inquiries
  • Maintain employee communication boards
  • Assist with the administration and coordination of employee engagement activities/events and general employee relations
  • Assist with the administration of the Employee Recognition Program
  • Coordinate and administer the Employee Referral Program
  • Retain a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulations for casino operations.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 1 year HR administrative experience and demonstrated interest in Human Resources
  • Relevant post-secondary education in human resources, hospitality, or another related field preferred
  • Knowledge of human resources theories, practices, and legislation
  • Solid writing skills, efficient multitasker, and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional people skills and refined understanding of labour laws and standards
  • A solution-driven personality who thrives while helping staff meet their goals
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, with discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
