Role Summary:
This role will play a pivotal part in optimizing Air North’s policies and procedures while ensuring they align with broader organizational goals while fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture. As a trusted strategic partner, the incumbent will control policies, provide guidance to managers and supervisors, ensure regulatory compliance, and other general supports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly review, update and create HR policies to reflect organizational and legal changes
- Engage in employee and labor relations
- Partner with management to address and resolve workplace conflicts and grievances in a fair and timely manner
- Submit on time and accurate quantitative and qualitative reports
- Ensure compliance with various regulations, including the Harassment and Violence Prevention Regulations and Legislated Employment Equity Program
- Lead HR projects that enhance Air North’s employee value proposition and support broader organizational and department goals
- Develop and provide training and coaching to managers/supervisors on HR best practices
Must haves:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience
- Solid foundation of applicable employment laws
- Superior writing ability to effectively write, update and control policies and other documentation
- Able to comfortably, confidently and effectively handle employee relations matters
- Thorough understanding of the landscapes of employment law, WCB, Human Rights legislation and labour relations practices
- Advanced interpersonal skills, with a commitment to discretion, ethical judgment, and maintaining confidentiality
- Strong Excel and quantitative skills to run analyses and support data driven decisions
- A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities
- Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
