A Snapshot of Your Day

Reporting to the Director General, the Human Capital and Labour Relations Manager will work at Siemens Energy’s Trois-Rivières plant. How You Will Make a Difference

  • Foster a work environment that promotes employee effectiveness and well-being, and maintain a positive relationship between employees and management to achieve desired business results.
  • Formulate and recommend objectives for all aspects of employee relations.
  • Interpret collective agreements and provide administrative assistance.
  • Lead collective agreement negotiations with the union and act as spokesperson.
  • Coordinate the work of the labour relations and grievance committees.
  • Participate in the mediation and/or arbitration process for grievances.
  • Advise and coach managers and supervisors on employee performance, absenteeism, attitude, and discipline issues.
  • Guide and advise managers and supervisors on issues related to all aspects of human resources management: recruitment, retention, attendance, performance management, transition planning, leadership development.
  • Consult and train managers and supervisors on employee relations and labour laws, issues, strategies, and guidelines.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding benefit requests and other personal matters.
  • Follow up with employees, as needed, on various issues (e.g., illnesses, special situations).
  • Participate in various committees (management, operations, etc.).
  • Coordinate and support employee skills development.
  • Coordinate the staffing process at the Trois-Rivières site.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees in collaboration with the management team.
  • Create, coordinate, and ensure transfer activities to a new HR structure and environment.

What You Will Bring to the Company

  • 10 years of experience in a unionized environment in Quebec.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration– Human Resources major or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations or any other relevant field.
  • CPHR designation an asset.
  • Experience in an organization with a strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment.
  • Field experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Relevant experience in team management and supervision.
  • Fluency in French and basic command of English.
  • Initiative, open-mindedness, and a positive attitude to change.
  • Organization and the ability to work in a team.
