Job Description

Our Client is a market leader in the manufacturing of roofing and building materials. The HSE Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety programs. This person will provide technical and professional support services to operations and reports directly to the local Plant Manager and functionally to the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve Health & Safety programs.
• Provide technical and professional support services to operations.
• Report to the local Plant Manager and functionally to the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment.
• Travel approximately 20-40% between BC, AB, and the US plants.

Essential Skills

• Health & safety expertise
• Hazardous waste management
• Experience in construction
• Experience in mining

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience preferred
• Leadership experience in construction, manufacturing, or mining plants
• Education & certifications in Operational Health and Safety (OHS degree, CRSP, etc.)

Work Environment

This role is based in Madoc, a small town in rural Ontario. The work environment includes a mining plant site. The team works together intensively onsite, fostering strong long-term relationships within the plant. Travel between BC, AB, and the US plants will be required (roughly 20-40%). Madoc is a lovely small town located between Ottawa and Toronto, ON, offering a supportive and collaborative work environment with ample growth opportunities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $55.29/hr.
