Agilus is recruiting for a HSE Lead in the Engineering Industry in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan.
The Health and Safety Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing all health and safety aspects of a CO2 Capture project. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and stakeholders. The Health and Safety Lead will work closely with project teams to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
A typical day:
Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs tailored to the project.
Establish safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with the project.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize safety risks.
Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Lead investigations into any health and safety incidents or near-misses.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
Successful candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., CRSP, CRST, CSP) is preferred.
10 years of experience in a health and safety role, with exposure to industrial/construction sites.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Experience with CO2 Capture projects or similar industrial projects is a plus.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Able to commute to site daily.
