Reporting to the Head, HR & Workforce Strategy, the HR Policy, Governance, and Operations, Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the HR policy framework and operations. This newly created role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HR policy, risk & governance frameworks, managing programs and projects, and leading HR operational activities across the People & Culture group.

This role partners closely with HR Advisory, Total Rewards, and Organizational Effectiveness, and the People & Culture Senior Leadership Team (P&C SLT).

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Strategic Policy Development: Collaborate with the P&C SLT to assess enterprise risk management and compliance strategies, support the drafting, maintenance, and periodic review of HR policies, ensuring they remain relevant and aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. Establish and document clear roles and responsibilities.

  • Operational Excellence: Standardize, document, and implement consistent HR processes in collaboration with HR leads, driving operational efficiency and effectiveness across the HR function. Act as a subject matter expert for HR governance, operating guidelines, and policies.

  • Compliance Activities: Partnering with internal stakeholders to proactively evolve the HR policy framework, ensuring adherence to evolving legislative requirements and industry best practices.

  • Audit and Risk Management: Lead the coordination, preparation, and response to audit and committee requests, managing the audit process and ensuring timely and accurate follow-up on actions.

  • Strategic Projects and Program Management: Partner with the Head, HR & Workforce Strategy on high-impact operational projects that advance the maturity, strategic capabilities, and innovation within the HR function. Develop project timelines, facilitate working sessions, document outcomes.

  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee risk management, Management Operating Review (MOR), and budget monitoring and reporting, ensuring robust governance and accountability.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Represent the HR team as a subject matter expert on cross-functional committees (ie. Information Security Governance Committee), providing strategic insights and guidance on HR-related matters.

You bring:

  • Proven experience and deep subject matter expertise achieved in a similar role supporting HR operations, policy, risk and governance.

  • Ability to align HR policies and operations with the organization's long-term goals and strategic objectives.

  • Skills in standardizing and optimizing HR processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Expertise in drafting, maintaining, and evolving HR policies to meet legislative and organizational requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Capability to manage and drive strategic operational projects that advance HR functions.

  • Excellent communication skills to articulate policies, processes, and strategic initiatives clearly and effectively.
