Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Lethbridge, AB
Job Purpose: We are hiring for an HR Manager to support the day-to-day human resources operations at a growing manufacturing plant located on the Blood Tribe. This key role involves managing employee records, payroll support, recruitment, benefits administration, and employee relations. As the plant continues to expand, the HR Manager will ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal data, payroll information, and attendance.
- Ensure records comply with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Track HR-related metrics and provide insights to guide decision-making.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Training:
- Facilitate onboarding processes for new employees, including orientation, documentation, and plant tours.
- Support recruitment efforts by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial phone screenings.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives, including training programs, safety initiatives, and performance management.
Employee Relations & Support:
- Act as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, escalating to the appropriate manager as needed.
- Support managers with employee engagement initiatives, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes.
Compliance and Policy Adherence:
- Ensure HR practices align with federal, provincial, and local regulations, maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, agriculture, or an industrial setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Valid First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Cultural competence and experience working within diverse communities, particularly Indigenous communities, is highly desirable.
- A clean criminal record check, including the vulnerable sector, is required.
Working Conditions:
- Weekends, evenings, and overtime may be required based on business needs.
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and adverse weather conditions.
- The production plant is located in a remote area, so reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
