As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be instrumental in improving our HR initiatives and programs while collaborating closely with the Director of People & Culture. This position is a 13-month term to cover maternity leave.
In this essential position, you will serve as a trusted resource for both employees and managers, offering support in key HR areas including onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits, rewards and recognition, performance management, HR administration, and compliance.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
- Onboarding and Offboarding: Assist with the onboarding process by supporting the onboarding guide to ensure new hires have a smooth transition. You will also help manage offboarding procedures, ensuring that departing employees have a respectful and thorough exit experience.
- Employee Relations and Support: Serve as a resource for employee and manager inquiries, providing fair resolutions and support on HR questions.
- Compensation Management: Assist in salary surveys and annual benchmarking to ensure our compensation practices remain competitive. Support compensation recommendations to align with pay structures.
- Rewards and Recognition Program Administration: Support the administration of the Rewards and Recognition program, helping to enhance employee engagement and ensuring that exceptional performance is recognized and celebrated.
- HR Analytics and Reporting: Generate HR reports that inform decision-making and provide leadership with insights through data-driven metrics, helping to track progress and identify areas for growth.
- Immigration Support: Support employees and recruitment by facilitating pathways to permanent residency through provincial programs in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
- Communication and Collaboration: Draft and distribute HR communications and letters, ensuring clear and effective information sharing across the organization.
- Professional Development and Best Practices: Stay current on HR trends and continuously seek improvements to enhance the employee experience and optimize our people activities.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources, or a related field, with over 3 years of progressive HR experience.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with HR systems like Dayforce HRIS, as well as Microsoft Suite and Teams.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, Canadian employment law, and industry trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Proven judgment, creativity, and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
