Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a HR Generalist to join a successful industrial group. The successful candidate will support the Human Resource function specifically recruitment, compliance, and employee engagement by supporting the management team on daily tasks and activities to increase employee morale. The key focus point of this position is to ensure that we are meeting our recruitment needs in a timely manner improving time to hire and ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times. This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organization skills and multitasking capabilities as well as excellent communication skills. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Head of Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  1. Recruiting
    1. Lead the recruitment process (including weekly updates to the hiring managers) - including managing creation of Job Descriptions, Job Postings for update to social media platforms, screening resumes, conducting background screening checks etc.
    2. Lead the interview process including pre-screening, scheduling first, and second interviews if required, coordinating with Department Managers, follow up with candidates who were not selected to advance in the interview process.
    3. Send out Offers of Employment including Job Description, and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
    4. Set up and monitor one week, 30-60-90-day review meetings with all new hires to maximize employee engagement and ensure a mutual fit.
    5. Support the Senior Generalist in setting up and completing new hire orientations.
    6. Work with local colleges and skilled trade organizations to attract apprentices.
  2. Employee Engagement
    1. Help the Senior Generalist coordinate employee birthday recognition, employee education and wellness seminars (i.e., financial, mental health, etc.).
    2. Partner with the Senior Generalist to lead the Lenworth Social Committee including company breakfasts, quarterly outings, holiday parties, etc.
    3. Work with the Senior Generalist to roll out the monthly reward program one specific to office staff and the other specific for technicians (i.e., Doing it Right awards).
  3. Additional Duties
    1. Partner with the Head of Human Resources to offer strategic advice on retention and recruitment strategies.
    2. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve issues.
    3. Serve as the main point of contact for all HR related questions from employees.
    4. Support Senior Generalist to set up and administer monthly safety talks.
    5. Work with Senior Generalist and Department Managers to identify and present opportunities for additional training to bridge gaps.
    6. Place a strong emphasis on retention with a focus on company culture, employee engagement and other employee related initiatives.
    7. Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Minimum Requirements

3-5 years of previous HR and end to end recruitment experience
Excellent communication & documentation skills
Strong interpersonal relationship skills
High volume recruitment and ability to lead the interview process - pre screening, coordination, follow up, offers and onboarding

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, shop floor or manual labour environment.
