Position Profile

Reporting to ventureLAB’s Manager of People and Culture, the Human Resources (HR) Coordinator, Talent Acquisition will play a critical role in supporting ventureLAB’s People and Culture team by conducting talent outreach, handling end-to-end recruitment, and supporting onboarding of new team members. In addition to talent acquisition, this role will assist the People and Culture team’s core mission to build and sustain an inclusive, mission-driven culture, increase employee engagement and manage day-to-day administrative human resource functions.

Responsibilities

Talent Outreach and Recruitment

  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of job descriptions, offer letters, and employment contracts.
  • Track and analyze hiring metrics to improve recruitment strategies.

Onboarding and Employee Engagement

  • Assist in onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth transition with necessary documentation, system access, and orientation scheduling.
  • Organize and support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and retention programs.
  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives, including training sessions and tracking participation.

HR Operations and Administration

  • Help administer performance management processes, tracking reviews and feedback cycles.
  • Maintain and update HR records, including employee files, HR databases, and online platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and best practices.
  • Support benefits administration, tracking employee enrollments and liaising with benefits providers.

Broader Team Support

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of HR projects, including DEI initiatives, wellness programs, and culture-building activities.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in small to medium-sized organizations.
  • Experience coordinating and administering HR functions within an organization.
  • Strong understanding of people and culture best practices, employment laws, and HR operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Passion for people, culture, and fostering an inclusive workplace.

Salary Range: $60,000 to $65,000 CAD per annum

Our Hybrid Work Structure

At ventureLAB, we have a hybrid work model that balances flexibility for employees with opportunities for in-office collaboration. This position is eligible for remote work. All ventureLAB team members, regardless of hybrid status, are required on-site each Thursday and for events, meetings and other in-person activities.
