As an HR Coordinator, you will provide service to internal HR team members, employees, and leaders by providing accessible and clear employee information via various tools, documents, and reports; and act as a point of contact for employees regarding general HR questions, policies, and procedures.

What does your typical day look like?

  • Manage HR Administrative tasks, duties, and responsibilities, and provide reports as needed;
  • Responsible for the Windsor HR Outlook inbox, updating the Active Directory, updates to the HR related items within the Global Excel SharePoint (The Terminal), and for the administration of the global performance management system (Pharus);
  • Ensure proper creation, management, and maintenance of employee files, data & documents, and employee mobility procedures (Change of Status, etc.);
  • Provide employment confirmation letters to employees and confirm employment dates for reference check purposes as needed;
  • Oversee all accommodations requests and discuss alignment with HRBP's, manage the leave of absence process and assist in determining possible accommodation and return to work strategies;
  • Track work permits (visas), contracts, and temporary assignments, and coordinate with leaders, payroll, and HRBP's to ensure extensions, revisions, and updates are addressed in a timely fashion;
  • Coordinate and conduct employee exit surveys and report any key takeaways to important stakeholders;
  • Train and support leaders on Administrative HR processes and manage monthly Human Resources KPI’s;
  • Act as the main point of contact for IT to confirm contact information of current and former employees (when returning the equipment);
  • Support all other HR processes as needed and other duties as assigned.

What skills and training do you need?

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a business-related discipline (CHRP Designation considered an asset);
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a Human Resources department (an asset);
  • Familiarity with Ontario employment legislation - Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Act, etc.;
  • Experience in workplace health & safety (an asset);
  • Clear and effective communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Strong customer service, organization, and prioritization skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to multi-task with ease;
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge in the following: ADP/HR systems, Excel reporting, Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Teams), and SharePoint;
  • High level of professionalism and discretion, with proven ability to adapt and be open-minded approach to change;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Spanish and French would be considered an asset.
