Job Description: HR Assistant
Paris Jewellers, a Canadian national retail jewellery brand, is looking for a Human Resources Assistant. The HR Assistant position is ideal for those who want to grow in the field and make a positive impact on the company, its people, and their customers. As the Human Resources Assistant of a National Retail Brand, you will have the ability to influence and make positive changes in a company that is continuing to grow.
We are looking for a Recruitment Assistant to support our recruiting and onboarding activities. Recruitment Assistant responsibilities include scheduling calls and interviews, maintaining the candidate database, and handling paperwork. Ultimately, you will help us hire efficiently and keep our hiring process running!
If you have some experience in recruiting and you're an excellent organizer and communicator, we would like to meet you. The Human Resources Assistant will be scheduled to work 0-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a possibility of moving to a permanent full-time position. Additional hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on the needs of the business, including but not limited to the holiday season, company meetings, and training.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage talent acquisition for the stores and the Head Office.
- Prepare and post job ads online.
- Support with resume screening and initial phone screens.
- Schedule interviews, maintain and update calendars for all hiring teams and candidates.
- Process reference and background checks.
- Maintain candidate database by maintaining records and paperwork.
- Resolve issues as fast as possible (e.g., interview cancellations or rescheduling interviews at short notice).
- Assist with new hire onboarding (e.g., preparing documents, coordinating orientation agendas).
- Assist and maintain office cleanliness.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- 1-2 years proven experience as Recruitment Assistant or another recruiting-related role.
- Familiarity with hiring practices and stages (screening, interview, assessment, onboarding).
- Experience using recruiting software and social networks for recruiting will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to deliver results, gain consensus and alignment while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
- Sense of urgency in completing tasks and timely task completions.
- Self-motivated and solution-based thinker.
- Experience in retail HR is considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn provincial legislation across four provinces.
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
- Representative and promoter of the Paris Jewellers Brand.
