Housing Support Worker – Full Time

Position Description: As the Housing Support Worker, you will promote housing stability for marginalized individuals, supporting their health, wellness, and community belonging. Promoting and demonstrating the vision, mission, and values of Indwell within the workplace and community.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Program operates 24/7. Shifts will primarily be 11am-7pm, 12pm-8pm, or 3pm-11pm. Having flexibility in scheduling to meet program needs to work a day on the weekend and/or on a statutory holiday.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Working as part of a team to provide direct and indirect support to individuals living in the residential care facility and the supported independent apartments.
  • Reinforcing residents’ life skills, spirituality, and social and community skills.
  • Maintaining a healthy and safe environment.
  • Orientation and training of new part-time staff.
  • Following applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Household duties: cooking and cleaning, other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Post Secondary education in psychology, social work, sociology or a related field required.
  • Experience working in mental health and/or affordable housing.
  • A warm, sensitive, and caring approach.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and have a genuine interest in supporting people living with mental illness.
  • Work independently, have strong problem-solving skills, be flexible, organized, responsible, and take initiative.
  • A valid “G” class driver’s license with own vehicle.
