Apply OnlineBASIC FUNCTIONReporting to the Director of Housing Services, the Housing Services Data Analyst is responsible for designing and conducting and/or contributing to data collection and analysis, research, programme evaluation, and planning in the Housing Services Division. The Housing Services Data Analyst maintains research, resource, and data repositories for housing and homelessness information and ensures that data files, research, and reports are formatted such that they can be aggregated for regional and provincial uses and reporting. The Housing Services Data Analyst facilitates training and workshop sessions for community partners to build awareness and understanding of housing and homelessness research and promotes use of local data collection, evaluation, and planning activities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the guidance of the Director of Housing Services, the Housing Services Data Analyst has the following duties and responsibilities:
- Support the data collection and analysis, research, programme evaluation, and information needs of the Housing Services Division.
- Collect, analyze and report on information relevant to system planning, the community, and the housing and homelessness sector.
- Liaise with key community, regional, and provincial stakeholders.
- Actively support knowledge mobilization and exchange of information.
- Build internal and external understanding of information and research relating to housing affordability and homelessness.
- Access and review existing reports and other relevant research to assist in understanding housing and homelessness trends.
- Identify all local sources of data; critically review and evaluate the extent to which these data assist in understanding homelessness or risk of homelessness in the community. Where appropriate and in collaboration with the Housing Planning and Policy Analyst, incorporate these data into reports that support programme planning.
- Collaborate with all housing, homeless, and health system partners by communicating identified priorities, data, indicators, and evaluation of various funding streams.
- Work with Housing Services teams and community partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting of required data elements, including assisting with internal recording mechanisms where required.
- Support the implementation of housing and homelessness data collection and conduct local analysis of relevant data sources, including contribution to the housing and homelessness strategic plan.
- Enable and advocate for the use of local housing and homelessness data through information sharing with local housing, homeless, and health service partners, local municipalities, and the broader community.
- Actively participate in and support local planning groups in disseminating results of local data collection, evaluation, and planning activities.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for community partners to build awareness and understanding of homelessness and at-risk of homelessness research and promote use of local data collection, evaluation, and planning activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Undergraduate degree – four years or equivalent in human services, including courses in social statistics.
- Over one-year related experience in data collection, data analysis, and research.
- Working knowledge of social science research methods and statistical analysis, with the ability to analyze and synthesize diverse information from many sources is preferred.
- Experience with ArcView/ArcGIS and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences is an asset.
- Ability to recommend changes to established methods or procedures.
- Ability to design, conduct, and effectively communicate research and complete data reports accurately.
- Knowledge and experience working with community agencies and programmes.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations, training, and/or capacity building sessions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent knowledge of computers, software, programmes, and databases.
- A valid driver’s licence (minimum G2 Class) and access to a reliable vehicle.
Pay Range: $41.33 - $48.17 (2025 Union Compensation Grid)

Pension: Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS); enrolment mandatory.
Medical Responsibility Time: Prorated and accrues at 0.5 days/month. Short Term Disability: 17 weeks coverage at 75% or 100% of pay, based on length of service.
Vacation: Accrues to start at three weeks/annum; increases based on length of service.
Union Dues: Payable to CUPE Local 973 at a rate of 1.964% of gross earnings.
Parking: Provided; taxable benefit provisions apply.
Mileage: If applicable, as per CRA allowances.
