Delta’s Development Department is a growing and performance-driven team that has exceeded the first-year Provincial Housing Target, adopted a new housing-focused Official Community Plan, and successfully implemented a number of bold housing policy initiatives. We are looking for a professional with 5+ years experience in planning, project management, non-profit operations, or a related field to develop a non-market housing program and help lead other community planning initiatives at the City.
Reporting to the Manager, Community Planning and in collaboration with senior management, the housing advisor will exercise considerable independent judgement in leading, developing, and implementing non-market housing objectives. This role is suited to a proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively with the general public. This person will be the City’s primary contact for any community-based housing providers or prospective housing co-ops, as well as developers looking to build and/or operate non-market housing in Delta.
This role is eligible for telework. The successful candidate will be housed within the Community Planning Team but working closely with the Development Planning Team. The role is temporary full-time for approximately 2 years, with the potential for extension.
The City of Delta provides a competitive annual salary of $113,720 - $135,614 (commensurate with experience) and an excellent benefits package including Municipal Pension Plan as well as an earned-days-off system.
