As a Hospital Security Guard, there is a high focus on customer service, de-escalating situations, patrolling, and desk duties, since you will be working with people all shift in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities for Hospital Security Guard

1. Customer service duties like welcoming, verifying identity, and guiding visitors
2. Manage access control
3. Perform regular patrols to identify potential risks
4. Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
5. Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
6. Answer questions in person or by phone
7. Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
8. Required to work with a team of highly skilled Security Professionals
9. Visit a patient – direct the person(s) to Patient Inquiry (Switchboard) to obtain the room number
10. Diagnostic procedure (EKG, Holter Monitor, X-Ray, CT scan, Ultrasound) direct them to the Diagnostic Imaging department
11. Post-surgical follow up, staple removal, Plastic Surgery clinic – to Orthopedic Clinic
12. Direct anyone out of the building who is not supposed to be there
13. CCTV Monitoring
14. Responding to Fire Alarm/Emergency Situations
15. Respond to different codes
16. Complete daily reports and incident reports
17. Desk Duties
18. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for Hospital Security Guard

1. Be authorized to work in Canada
2. Hold a valid Manitoba security license
3. First aid certification an asset
4. Exceptional customer service skills
5. Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
6. Fluent in English, both written and orally
7. High school education or equivalent
8. Strong customer service skills
9. Excellent computer skills
