Lowell High School is an independent BC high school and IB World School. We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Secondary Language Arts and/or Humanities Teacher.

START DATE: September 2025

LOCATION: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Job Overview

English/Humanities Teacher

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • present qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach English and Humanities courses at the secondary level
  • exhibit an understanding of international student learners
  • be a positive, flexible, adaptable individual committed to student-centered teaching
  • demonstrate a willingness to work with a group of professionals to collaborate regarding curriculum, assessment, instruction, and planning in a small-class environment with an average 1:8 teacher-student ratio
  • demonstrate awareness of BC curriculum requirements, and the appropriate application of performance standards
  • be a communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to create effective working relationships with colleagues and students
  • experience working with international students and ELL learners is an asset
  • be comfortable using Canvas and technology in the classroom
  • demonstrate ability to differentiate instruction to accommodate students with varying language abilities and learning styles.
Qualifications
  • BC certified teacher (TRB); or must be immediately eligible for certification
  • Experience teaching English/Humanities curriculum at the secondary level
  • IB experience preferred
  • A keen willingness to support learners.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package with a full-time salary range of $61,175 to $70,000 based on TQS certification (education and experience).
