The Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) is currently accepting applications for one (1) full time Help Desk Technician to join our team.

We Require An Individual Who

  • Has the ability to understand a vast array of complex technical issues, solutions and or alternatives
  • Has the ability to understand both the clinical and financial processes of the hospital to ensure quality and integrity of the solutions provided
  • Has the ability to analyze a problem and develop, implement and support the solution
  • Will provide first and second level support for Information Systems hardware, software, network and operating system requests
  • Has in-depth knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures as they relate to the industry (Security, privacy, confidentiality)
  • Understands user administration, account administration, file administration and account policies
  • Will maintain helpdesk database administration and maintenance
  • Will deploy desktop and life-cycle services
  • Will manage mobile device assignment and deployment, as well as other peripheral equipment, providing preventive maintenance procedures on peripheral and desktop equipment
  • Has the in-depth knowledge of technical procedural documentation, configuration and asset & change management in a rapidly and continuously changing industry
  • Will contribute to the development and implementation of the departmental strategic plan

Essential Skills For The Position Are

  • Excellent computer hardware and software troubleshooting and support skills
  • Proficiency with Windows Active Directory (AD), Windows suite of operating systems and Microsoft Office product line
  • Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN environment
  • Technical writing / documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Business analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Industry standard technical certifications (desirable)

You Will Stand Out If You Have

  • An IT background, with a degree or diploma in Information Technology or equivalent education/work experience and at least 2 years’ experience in the information systems field, including experience with applications, networking, corporate wireless and telecommunications.

Additional Qualifications

  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

Hours Of Work

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Participation in on-call rotation, as per departmental schedule

Salary

  • $35.47 to $41.50 per hour

Location: Your home office will be located at Groves Memorial Community Hospital and travel will be required to our sites in Mount Forest and Palmerston, so a valid drivers’ license and reliable vehicle is required.
