We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician with Frac Experience to join our Red Deer Service Shop Team. This position will diagnose, repair, and maintain bi-fuel engines, including troubleshooting and internal engine repairs. Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy equipment as well as troubleshooting and repairing transmission and hydraulic systems are a frequent service requests in this position.

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

• Conduct pre- and post-repair testing to ensure equipment performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools are in proper working order.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to client needs efficiently.
• Accurately complete required documentation, including service reports and warranty claims.
• Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
• Follow workplace health and safety standards.
• Work overtime as needed to meet business demands.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

• Journeyman Certification as Heavy Equipment Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Current CVIP License (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a Clean Driving Abstract

Additional experience that aligns with this role:

• CAT 3512, Cummins QSK50, Detroit 60 and MTU engines
• CAT TH48 and TH55 transmissions
• hydraulics
• working with, and repairing, frac equipment and truck/trailer units

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret schematics
• Safety-conscious with attention to quality and detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Basic computer proficiency (email, Microsoft Word, OEM software
