Heavy Duty Mechanic

Rob Smith & Son Backhoe & Trucking Ltd. is a COR certified company engaged in the construction industry all over Manitoba. The base of operations is located in rural Manitoba just north of Neepawa, MB.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Health, Safety and Environment

• Demonstrates a commitment to a safe work environment. Understands the safety objectives of the organization and supports these efforts in a visible manner.
• Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

SKILLS:

• Ability to diagnose and complete repairs and/or service on all types of highway trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment.
• Must have working knowledge of computers and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and service skills.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Team player with a willingness to learn.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs minimum as some heavy lifting is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• High School Graduate.
• Minimum 4 years of experience (Red Seal is an asset but not required).
• Welding would be an asset.
• Safety Ticket would be an asset.
