Job Description:

The Senior Civil Estimator will be an integral part of the estimating team, interacting with ownership, staff, project managers, and clients. This is a full-time role with benefits. The key position will prepare accurate and competitive bids while maintaining our high standards of quality and integrity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with staff, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Perform tasks in all aspects of estimating; take off, market research.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for sewer and watermain projects, earthmoving, and other various civil projects.
• Analyze contract documents, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate takeoffs.
• Identify project risks and opportunities during the bidding process.
• Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to incorporate practical construction methodologies.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather critical project information.
• Prepare detailed bid submissions and participate in client presentations when required.
• Liaise with clients, build trustworthy relationships.
• Update projects as/when needed.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Bid2Win Software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• 10+ years experience in civil construction, with specific knowledge of sewer and watermain projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods and challenges.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed civil engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for underground infrastructure.
• Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related degree an asset.

What Sets You Apart:

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday 7:00am - 5pm
• Overtime if/when needed
