Your Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Specialist to ensure a safe, compliant workplace. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, working directly in the field to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement safety protocols.

Day to Day

• Ensure compliance with Federal regulations by creating and maintaining policies and SOPs.
• Lead safety training sessions for employees and coordinate third-party training programs.
• Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend preventive measures.
• Monitor adherence to safety laws and collaborate with management.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of safety inspections and training certifications.
• Work closely with operations teams to implement safety programs.
• Foster a collaborative environment where safety is prioritized.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Health and Safety, Occupational Health, or related field.
• Able to complete a one year contract starting in April 2025.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience with incident investigation and implementing corrective actions.
• CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) Designation is considered an asset.
