We are currently seeking Health Care Aides to join our team that is responsible for hands-on personal care services, light housekeeping, meal service assistance, as well as participation in social-recreational activities.

***Please note this is a Temporary position for Summer 2025***

Responsibilities

  1. Performs light housekeeping in resident suites and common areas
  2. Support personal care activities; dressing, bathing, incontinence
  3. Simple transfers
  4. Respond to medical emergencies in a calm manner
  5. Assists with resident laundry and meal service as needed
  6. Follow Care Plans and report any changes or concerns
  7. Working with residents to meet care requirements
  8. Demonstrate ongoing competence utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adults
  9. Ensure accordance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and employment and safety statutes
  10. Demonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention, through safe work practices and procedures
  11. Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification
  2. Registered with provincial health care registry
  3. Experience in a residential care setting is preferred
  4. Demonstrate infection control procedures
  5. Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners
  6. Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requests
  7. Superior oral and written communication skills
  8. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve
  9. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  10. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift 25 pounds
  11. Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residents

Conditions of Employment

  1. Completion of CPR and First Aid
  2. Clear Police Information Check
  3. Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
