YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards such as preparing performance reports, analyzing workplace hazards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing and supporting health and safety management systems, conducting site inspections, facilitating incident investigations, delivering safety training, and promoting a positive safety culture. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to provide health and safety guidance, participate in performance monitoring and activity reporting, and execute hazard analyses and reports.
  2. Use performance data to drive improvement initiatives, implement Health and Safety management systems, and support the Ontario sites with their annual goals and objectives.
  3. Engage in programs to monitor and control workplace hazards, perform site inspections and audits to ensure safety compliance, and support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  4. Manage and deliver safety training programs, promote a positive health and safety culture, and support the Internal Responsibility System.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in a Health and Safety related discipline.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the mining sector.
  3. Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and both construction & mining regulations.
  4. Experience with HSE management system software and safety methodologies (Intelex, e-Compliance, ICAM investigation methodology, Bowtie Risk Assessments).
  5. Experience with Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM), the International Cyanide management Code and ISO 45001 are considered assets.
  6. Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at one of our Ontario Regional Offices located in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay or Sudbury, ON. Frequent visits to our Ontario mining operations and projects is also required.
