Come and join our renowned and passionate team, specialized in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management, as a Health and Safety Advisor. With your expertise, you’ll support our client by providing advice on occupational health and safety.
Your main objective will be to maintain our client’s assets in good condition at various sites on the South Shore (Longueuil and St-Hubert), as part of priority work to bring them up to standard and carry out major refurbishments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety standards required by laws, regulations and policies.
- Advise on the direction to take to meet health and safety requirements on specific job sites.
- Develop and recommend appropriate preventive measures and instructions, specific health and safety methods and procedures for work to be carried out on construction sites.
- Manage a full-time OHS advisor on site.
- Establish and maintain good relations with the various stakeholders in order to remain proactive in accident prevention.
- Monitor construction sites by carrying out periodic weekly preventive inspections.
- Require that immediate corrections be made to hazardous conditions identified during inspections, issue notices of deviation and corrections, and follow up on them.
- Investigate near-misses, accidents or incidents, when the situation so requires, and recommend appropriate corrective health and safety measures.
Qualifications
- Diploma of College Studies (DCS), University degree or other relevant OHS diploma.
- Minimum five (5) years’ relevant experience in the field of OHS.
- Knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations such as the OHSA, CSTC, RROHS.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel).
- Proficiency in spoken and written French.
