Adecco is currently hiring a full-time proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor for a contract position, to oversee and implement workplace safety programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster a culture of health and safety within our client's organization in Grande Prairie, AB. In this role you will collaborate with teams to mitigate risks, conduct training, and maintain a safe working environment. Are you passionate about creating safe and thriving work environments? Shift:

5 days a week, 12 hours shift, 60 working hrs/week

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct support to company execution teams regarding the interpretation of applicable OHS Legislation, Industry standards & practices, company H&S program components and worker training requirements.
  2. Able to speak with authority and coach on CVE programs, processes and standards.
  3. Assist in the implementation of the company strategy and direction and goal alignment with the organizations priorities.
  4. Participate in the review of project specific safety documents and associated contractor performance meetings.
  5. Ensure H&S planning is in line with the company business strategy and growth plans.
  6. Coach, influence, motivate and empower others (internally and externally) with regards to H&S ownership.
  7. Communicate relevant and timely H&S information to the right stakeholders.
  8. Steward safe performance the company Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) and related H&S requirements.
  9. Assist in building and sustaining H&S capability platform tailored to business needs for field operations.
  10. Collaborate within the organization to share best practice, lessons learnt and improve knowledge management.
  11. Stay abreast of emerging H&S issues and legislation.
  12. Keep the respective assets updated with relevant requirements and assist with compliance to H&S legislation.
  13. Respond to requests for H&S support from field based operational teams and/or functional leaders.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada.
  2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, ideally in Major Projects functions, specializing in the H&S Occupation.
  3. Combination of Field & Construction safety background.
  4. OH&S Education such as NCSO, CRSP or CRST.
  5. A Class 5 (non-GDL) driver's license, or equivalent, is required. (Driver's Abstract Required)
  6. Minimum 5 years performing safety audits and inspections is required.
  7. Possesses strong Health & Safety management system technical knowledge.
  8. High proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.).
  9. Prepared to gain a detailed knowledge of all Company H&S standards, policies, and procedures.
  10. Able to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures.
  11. Searches for understanding and to find new and appropriate solutions.
  12. Process safety related training (PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, P&ID Interpretation) is an asset.
  13. Must be able to pass D&A and FFW testing.
