Overview:
Our client in Regina, SK is looking for a Health & Safety Specialist for an initial 15-month contract till March 31, 2025. This is a remote role and the successful candidate(s) can be located anywhere in Canada. Our client’s Health and Safety Department is seeking the services of one (1) qualified Health and Safety Specialist resource to assist with Safety Program Management. Specifically in the development and implementation of comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, compliance measures, and best practices. This initiative aims to enhance their organizational safety standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and/or update and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with applicable local, provincial and federal regulations.
  • Implement industry best practices, trends and advancements in safety technology and methodologies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with safety standards. Create training and support staff on health and safety protocols.

What you must have:

  • Proven North American work experience in a health and safety role.
  • Proven practical experience in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, compliance measures, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant local, provincial and federal health and safety regulations and standards, including Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Sound knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) or related safety approaches including implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of process safety is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
