The Opportunity:

As a regulated digital asset lender, Ledn is subject to various virtual asset service providers (VASPs) and lending regulatory frameworks. As Head of Compliance, you will help build and maintain ownership of Ledn’s global compliance program, including providing comprehensive oversight over Ledn’s enterprise risk management framework (ERMF), which encompasses Ledn’s anti-money laundering / financial crimes (AML / FC) and corporate governance programs.

This opportunity is for a proactive and strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic, fast-evolving regulatory landscape. You have a strong background in regulatory compliance, AML / FC, and corporate governance, and you are motivated to build, enhance, and lead in an environment where agility and risk-based decision-making are key. You are equally comfortable setting strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves to execute, making you both a leader and a hands-on problem solver.

This is a VP level role reporting directly to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of Ledn’s ERMF to ensure that it remains appropriate for Ledn's structure, risk profile, complexity, activities, and size.
  • Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of internal compliance systems, processes and controls, in collaboration with Ledn’s information technology / security teams, finance and investment teams, and operations team.
  • Lead and oversee the development and deployment of Ledn’s AML / FC program, consisting of an internal AML / FC team and other local outsourced AML compliance officers. Ledn’s Director of AML / FC, who will manage the day-to-day operations of the AML / FC program, will report directly to you.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting in relevant reporting jurisdictions (including Cayman Islands, Spain and USA), and ensure that all regulatory filings, reports, and documentation are completed with accuracy and expediency.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory exams, independent third-party audits, law enforcement and other regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee and implement a training program regarding Ledn's compliance functions to new employees and company-wide on an ongoing basis.
  • Supervise and monitor Ledn's regulatory compliance activities and ensure that Ledn's senior management receives timely and complete information about the adequacy and effectiveness of Ledn's compliance programs.
  • Build at the forefront of developing digital asset financial services and work in a fast-paced environment.

Must Haves:

  • 10+ years of experience leading compliance programs across multiple regulatory jurisdictions, including risk-based frameworks and regulatory reporting.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide compliance frameworks spanning multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience interfacing with regulators and managing regulatory audits, inquiries, and examinations.
  • Deep expertise in global AML / CTF regulatory frameworks, including risk assessment, reporting obligations, and regulatory examinations.
  • Experience with laws and regulations surrounding consumer protection, data privacy and cybersecurity.
  • Strong grasp of risk-based compliance programs and best practices in corporate governance.
  • Remarkable ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product.
  • You are a detail-oriented leader with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships across teams and with regulators.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where strategic agility and adaptability are key, and you understand how to navigate and manage the risks associated with such an environment.
  • You are excited about the future of digital assets and blockchain technology.

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with fintech or digital asset compliance licensing, including regulatory engagement.
  • Experience with Cayman Islands, USA or Spain compliance regulations.
  • CAMS Certification.
