HCOS Teacher Sumas CC+ (Gr. 4-7 PHE, Science, Social Studies)

Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. As one of Western Canada’s largest online schools, we connect teachers with families and students to provide guidance and support via personalized, online, and face-to-face options.

The Position

We are looking for independent contractor(s) who are certified to teach in BC for our Sumas Community Connections+ program location. Community Connections Plus (CC+) are in-person learning opportunities that are one full day per week for 30 weeks where students collaborate in a class setting with a home-education flavor, focusing on meaningful and hands-on learning activities. CC+ classes are led by BC certified teachers fully responsible for covering all CC+ course outcomes. We have multiple positions available that can be combined into one position if requested:

1. Grades 4/5 (PHE, Science, Social Science) – 0.26 position, one day (Tuesday) on site for 30 weeks at Mill Lake Church for the 2025-26 school year.
2. Grades 4/5 (PHE, Science, Social Science) – 0.26 position, one day (Thursday) on site for 30 weeks at Mill Lake Church for the 2025-26 school year.
3. Grades 6/7 (PHE, Science, Social Science) – 0.26 position, one day (Thursday) on site for 30 weeks at Mill Lake Church for the 2025-26 school year.

Qualifications:

• BC Certified Teacher
• Previous experience teaching relevant subjects
• Ability to build relationships and work relationally with students, parents, coordinators, and other team members
• Flexible attitude towards adapting to students and situations

What we offer:

• Competitive Wage: $17,000-20,000/year based on 0.26 FTE and depending on experience and certifications
• Contractor model
• Ability to combine position with other posted teaching opportunities within HCOS
